Father's Day! Lima Peru

Are you tired of the same old wine after dinner? A couple of beers to watch the game? Would you like something different for a change? Do you know which is one of the most delicious and well-known drink of South America? Pisco!!!! Almost everyone must have tried it at some point in their lives. Pisco, which is a kind of brandy made of grapes, represents to Peruvians what Sake represents to the Japanese, or Tequila to the Mexicans.

Pisco, which is also the name of a City in the southern area of Peru, owes its magnificent taste to the finest grapes used in its making, as well as to the process which is also a part of Peruvian history. The most traditional wineries still use the big wooden barrels and their workers still take part in the “Pisa de Uva” which is a lovely and even touching moment of the process.
Pisco can be served in many ways, being one of the most famous Pisco Sour. We all must try it at least once in our lives

Now that Father's day is on its way, how about a nice bottle of Pisco for the old man? He will definitely love it!!! Just think about it, a nice glass of Pisco after dinner with all the family.

Don’t worry if you are a bit far away, our “Chalanes” at www.peruviana.com are already prepared to help you. Take a look at http://peruviana.com/liquorswines.html you’ll find great Pisco combos for your dad.

Bottoms up!

Valentine's Day in Lima Peru!
Cupid brings flowers and gifts!

Careful!!! Cupid is already out and we do not know who he is aiming at!

It is almost February, we'd better get ready to let our loved ones how much we care about them. Gifts, flowers, cards, balloons, teddy bears...all that works; but what we have to keep in mind is being true to ourselves. Take care of yourself! Your health, be happy and grateful. Love yourself first.

When you are ready to surprise those who mean something to you, why not prepare them a nice meal. If it is not possible due to distance, surprise your Mom, Father, sibling, girlfriend or boyfriend with the universal language of love: flowers!

Our Cupid connection in Lima Peru delivers flowers and gifts on your behalf. And for Cupid to aim better, and not miss, this Valentine's Day in Lima Peru we are giving away lovely balloons with every order of flowers and gifts that you place.

Don't wait till February 13! Our balloon offer is valid for a limited time (use coupon code: amor).

Valentine's is everyday, if you want it to be!

Happy Thanksgiving!

2007 has been quite a year for us at Peruviana, some ups and downs as everybody else, but we have many things to be thankful for: our health, our families and loved ones and your valued business.

This year we have something very important to be thankful for. As you know, tragedy struck Peru in August 2007. A major earthquake, 7.9 degrees, hit the Ica region, south of Lima. Thousands of people lost everything they owned, even loved ones.

Charity organizations started campaigns to help victims, and we at Peruviana wanted to help too, so we asked our loyal customers for their help. We did not expect such a quick and great response from you. We were completely overwhelmed by your trust and willingness to aid the earthquake victims. Your help gave us hope and strength to try our best for these people and we succeeded!

Thank you once again! We will remember you this Thanksgiving in the USA with a toast to your health and prosperity.

Expats Peru - People that love Peru!

Trying to find the right words is very difficult. It all comes down to THANK YOU VERY MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!

We were gladly surprised by the quick response from all of you that felt the need to help our Peruvian brothers; please be sure that every penny you donated was and is being used well and 100% towards relief supplies (no overhead at all!). We have just finished this weekend, Sept. 9, buying food/supplies with your gift donations (our Third Shipment) . All our gift donors will receive an email with update, a link to our relief inventory and by regular mail a receipt for the purchase made on their behalf.

The members of PERUVIANA (http://www.peruviana.com/) that travelled to Peru spent days taking care of everything we collected , giving it to different organizations helping the people that were affected by the August 15th Earthquake.

We distributed your gifts among the Anglican Church of Lima (The Church of the Good Shepherd), already well organized and working onsite, and running 8 soup kitchens! Other recipients were INDECI (Instituto Nacional de Defensa Civil, Government Office) and some private concerned citizens who actually visited the affected areas, some civil volunteers and physicians. We were advised not to travel to ground zero in Ica, as space in cars, trucks, was needed for long-term volunteers familiar with the area. Our role was to help, not to get in the way, so we complied.

Our part is not over yet, we can still help the people from Peru. Please take a minute or two and visit http://www.peruviana.com/eainpereef.html for links to reputable organizations. INDECI is relocating from the Estadio Nacional (Stadium), as soon as we get information, we will post an update.
Once again, thank you very much for your support and your prayers. May you get back many times what your heart already gave to the people in Peru.

Help us! Help Peru! Earthquake Relief!

Tragedy has hit our Peruvians brothers, hundreds of people are no longer with us and thousands have lost everything. However they have not lost hope and more importantly they have not lost us. Each one of us can make a difference, how? By helping. Any little thing we can do will be extremely helpful.
You may be thinking what you could possibly do being so far away from Peru; well there is nothing impossible for those who have the will to help. Peruviana is already doing as much as possible to help, but we need you. Here are some options for you to help:

· Money Donations We are skipping the middle man and going directly to Defensa Civil (Government Agency already on site)
Website: www.indeci.gob.pe
Donations: Banco de Credito del Peru
in Soles: 00219300162236401411
in US$: 00219300161913611813
Pros: Already helping in Ica. Your donation goes directly to this cause, not to overhead or salaries. Your name is listed and shows up everyday on an Excel Chart they compiled. Good accountability system.
Cons: Website only in Spanish, and a little bit slow. You have to go personally to a Banco de Credito Branch in Lima, Peru. Cash only, they do not take credit cards or paypal.
· Be a "Gift Donor" Buy a "Gift" in our webstore (http://peruviana.com/eainpereef.html) for as low as $15.00. While we visit Peru, we will personally buy on your behalf emergency items: warm clothing, food, medicines, or whatever they tell us is necessary. We will then bring your items to: Estadio Nacional (National Stadium)in Lima, Monday to Sunday (including holidays) from 08:00 to 19:00.

Pros: Many!
· If you wish, we will send you the original receipt for your purchased items (not photocopies, by mail) We will even pay for postage.
· We accept credit cards (Amex,Visa,MC) and Paypal.
· We are an official Yahoo! Store, with a squeaky clean record. We are serious and in business for over 7 years.
· We accept: American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Paypal.

Cons:
· We are NOT a non-profit agency, so if you wish to receive your original purchase receipts, you cannot deduct them from your taxes. This is a gift you are sending to somebody in Peru, during these difficult times.
· We can only offer this personalized service to you, while we are in Peru: August 25 till Sept. 2

If you cannot donate, please your prayers will mean a lot to all Peruvians and us.
We all need you more than ever, take a minute or from your time and help us, you wont regret it.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
